Blomster by Jinny Blom

This rich mineral red comes from a strong memory of my time living in Denmark. The sun in winter hits the red roofs and red painted walls of the small farmhouses with its unique crisp maritime light. Red in a Scandinavian landscape is a sharp shot of punctuation. The red of autumn apples against the rich blue sky on the Baltic Island of Bornholm. Poppies, the blomster of the paint name, indelibly marked in my mind’s eye. An essential accent colour in any landscape or garden.
