Dover Street

Freeze/Fall

An art installation to coincide with Frieze Art Fair

Dover Street Market, London

Eternity
He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity’s sun rise
By William Blake

I was moved by the turning season and also by the William Blake poem Eternity that describes the human desire to capture and hold beauty. The installation shows real flowers trapped or frozen at their peak of beauty in differing ways and with their natural loveliness either enhanced or corrupted by this. Over the course of the exhibition they will continue to fade.
